The .po files is used by launchpad platform to do the translation. We can convert the file to yaml at the end.

Is this something you plan on working on?

There are actually two steps,

1. the yaml files for the basic strings

2. email templates and various text blurbs. Once the yaml files are ready, I will set up a site using those files, and then whoever is doing the translation can translate the email templates and text blurbs.
